Authorities Conduct Vehicle Tax Inspections for 2022

Phnom Penh: The General Department of Taxation has announced that from January 15, 2023, authorities will inspect all  vehicles on some major roads in the capital and provinces and stop any vehicles that have not paid 2022 tax.

The collection of transportation taxes for all types of vehicles in 2022 was concluded on November 30, 2022, but the General Department of Taxation issued a call on December 22 to vehicle owners who had not paid taxes to do so and pay your  fines in accordance with the law at the General Department of Taxation or at provincial tax branches or banks to avoid being stopped on the road and receiving more fines, which will waste time and cause congestion on the road.

Vehicle owners who fail to pay their taxes on time will be subject to penalties under applicable tax laws.

At the same time, the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia has once again reminded the owners of right-hand drive vehicles in Cambodia, who have already registered with the Department of Customs and Excise, to pay taxes by December 31, 2022.
